Surprisingly it's not as top-heavy as it appears (or, they edited out any rollovers). The ground clearance comes courtesy of the offset drive hubs from the Unimog.
The one I saw on ebay motors a few years back was an early Steyr model that had seen light service in the Swiss Forestry Service. As I recall, it was going for around $11G or so.
Some folks are turned off by the boxy architecture, but inasmuch as I used to drive a Trooper II - ain't no thang.
