But will Fannie Flagg be on the panel?

ABC has announced the revival of my favorite game show. Match Game will be part of their summer prime time game show schedule. Alec Baldwin will be the host. The late, great Gene Rayburn was the original host of the show where celebrities were asked to fill in the strategically placed blank in a sentence.

The show originally ran in the 60's but the revamped 70's version quickly became the #1 show in daytime television. One of the key factors in the show's loose vibe was the fact it was shot on a Saturday when the stars were off work from their regular jobs and were oftenly well lubricated.

You can still watch reruns of Match Game on GSN and BUZZR.

Wasn't there an episode where Richard was equally shamelessly flirting with a constestant and he was so wiped out he was actually slurring his words? Am i thinking of somebody else or another show but still him?! I thought that was what u were going to show this time.
PS: I thought Fannie Flagg was kinda hawt back in the day.

I don't remember the episode you're talking about, but I'm sure it happened. I watched a documentary about Match Game a couple years ago and it was pretty much a full time party. They filmed 10 episodes a weekend twice a month and by the time they got to the last 3 or 4 everybody was pretty lit, especially the regulars like Brett, Charles and Richard.

Speaking of Richard, I thought he was pretty bold kissing female contestants on Family Feud, but he's mild compared to Gene Rayburn. That old letch was borderline molesting / sexually harassing female contestants and celebrities. Ah, the 70's...
