The Oil Bust in a Nutshell

 From some guys I know:
Have started compiling a a rather simplistic chronology of the current oil bust. Partially to satisfy my own curiosity and partially to have something to refer back to years down the line when we're hopefully discussing "remember how shitty things were in early 2015?"
6/9/2014: WTI closes at $106.83. The 2014 Peak and the climax of the bull market for WTI that spanned the vast majority of the current decade.10/2/2014: $89.73. The first day below $90 on the year.11/2/2014: $78.77. First day below $80.11/27/2014: $66.15. First day below $70. The Thanksgiving Day Massacre as a result of OPEC announcement. Prices dropped roughly $7 that day.12/11/2014: $58.08. First day below $60.1/5/2015: $47.93. First day below $50.1/27/2015: $45.22. The first "bottom", which preceded a 2 1/2 week dead-cat bounce.2/16/2015: $54.29. The peak of the dead-cat bounce.3/16/2015: $43.88. Lowest price since 2009.
Yesterday:  BOOM!
Quicksilver Resources Inc and its U.S. units filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday, adding to a list of oil and gas producers who have folded amid low oil prices.
The company listed assets of $1.21 billion and liabilities of $1.35 billion in its bankruptcy petition in a Delaware court.
