F Troop

Possibly the 2nd most politically incorrect sitcom ever, pretty sure Amos and Andy hold the record for #1, but undoubtedly one of the funniest. F Troop was a mid-level performer in the ratings for ABC for 2 seasons (65/66 one in B/W, the other in Color). The cast and writing was off the charts talented. Perhaps too talented for TV in 1966. Can you imagine Larry Storch working on HBO? Gold, Jerry... Gold!

F-Troop was unquestionably Ken Berry's best vehicle and it gave him TV's hottest, yet inapprops girlfriend 'Wrangler Jane' played by 16 year old Melody Patterson. She wound up marrying James 'Book 'em Dano' MacArthur (70-75) and appeared in several Hawaii Five-0 episodes and guest spots on The Monkees, Adam 12 and Green Acres.
Inapprops, but Damn!

Of course the age difference was a deal breaker (for her) but in today's vernacular... wood plow. She is 13 years older than me so just about right for the "And Another" we see so often today (but so un often back in my day, damn  it!).
