OK, the poll asks if Kid Rock is the new Willie. But on further consideration I should have asked if he was the new Waylon. I always liked Waylon better than Willie. Together they made a hell of a team and helped to create a whole new musical genre known as Outlaw Country.
No offense to Willie's work, but Waylon's music always had an old school Texas honky tonk feel to it. He wasn't as slick or smooth as Willie, but he would cut you to the bone with his songs.
So, is Kid Rock the new Waylon? Is he the new face of Outlaw Country? Personally, I think he should do a tour with Shooter Jennings.

He kinda strikes me as a little more Hank jr. than Willie nelson. Or maybe early Johnny Cash. Hard to say, really, because country music has morphed so much in the last decade, give or take a few years. Alot of it has taken almost a pop direction with the latest crop of musicians.
