I hadn't seen that gun before.
I have always been tempted to buy one of the .22LR full size carbines but have been reluctant as I have heard they're prone to jam.
As I recall the theory is the small charge may not have the power to reliably throw the bolt through the cycle after even a small amount of carbon gets up in there.

el chupacabrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16561225364468732743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4368440423590180612.post-61218974417654421582015-01-30T17:26:37.576-06:002015-01-30T17:26:37.576-06:00Wow - I'm surprised they were selling .22 long...Wow - I'm surprised they were selling .22 long by the brick, and at promo prices. That's kind of a niche product.

I don't own a 'black rifle, but I noticed that they had a Mossberg AR variant for cheap at Academy over the Black Friday weekend, for something less than $600, but it lacked a forward assist. Didn't buy one, but have since noted they've had specials on Ruger and S&W AR-15 type platforms for not much more money.

Do kinda regret not picking up a tan grip Taurus Millenium G2 on the BF weekend, for the foolishly low price of $259 (reg. $359). My last 9mm was about 20 yrs ago, and while .357 Mag and .45 ACP (the one featured in my post, as well as one like I believe you've said you own) are my go-to calibers, they are not particularly suited for CC, should the need arise.

At last weekend's range outing, we found several 7.65x25 Tokarev casings - would love to have seen if someone was shooting a CZ-52, and possibly tried it out.

Back to the .22s. Hard to beat the 10/22 platform. Oldest son got one recently (the one in the post), I've had one for ages. The Marlin 60 is also fairly ubiquitous, though I've never owned one. Don't have any experience with the Rem 597.

That Mossberg looks like it would be fun for dispatching cans and plastic bottles.an Donalbanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06418506325893352676noreply@blogger.com
